The Class Teacher is Miss Williams who is supported by Teaching Assistants Mrs Ward and Ms Amey.
In Class R they deliver an exciting and engaging curriculum which fosters that love for learning through a variety of topics:
Autumn 1 - All About Me
Autumn 2 - Transport: Past and Present
Spring 1 - Space
Spring 2 - Growing and Changing
Summer 1 - Kings and Queens
Summer 2 - Stories from the Past
Through play, and adult participation and communication, children explore and discover new ideas, skills and concepts. The children are encouraged to become problem solvers and build on prior knowledge through weekly challenges and enhancements. As well as learning through play and child-initiated activities, the children also work closely with the teaching staff engaging in literacy and mathematics adult-directed tasks weekly.
Class R pupils enjoy short daily phonics sessions following the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised Scheme to confidently learn how to read and write to become confident and independent learners ready for Class One. In addition to this, the children engage in a short daily mathematics lesson providing essential life skills. Alongside whole-class Handwriting, Forest Schools, RE, PHSE, Music and Topic lessons.
